Congratulations to the Baryon Hadron Robotics for winning the Inspiration Trophy at their FIRST LEGO League (FLL) Singapore tournament on Friday and Saturday, 3 and 4 March 2017 at the Canadian International School Singapore! SWA Robotics Team has been representing Indonesia for the past three years.
In early fall every year, FIRST LEGO League (FLL) releases a new challenge, which is based on a real-world scientific topic. This year’s challenge, Animal Allies, focuses on a solution for a problem that exists between human and animal interactions. Each challenge has three parts: the Robot Game, the Project and the FLL Core Values. Teams participate in the challenge by programming an autonomous robot to score points on a themed playing field (Robot Game), developing a solution to a real-world problem they have identified (Project), all guided by the FLL Core Values. The Baryon Hadron Robotics created an innovative solution regarding unique way of raising fund for the Borneo Orangutan Survival Foundation, which is definitely a real-world problem. The Baryon Hadron Robotics designed, built and programmed an autonomous robot using LEGO MINDSTORMS technologies to perform programmed missions based on the Animal Allies theme. After ten intense weeks, the competition season culminates with high-energy, sports-like tournaments. Like any other organised “sport,” teams create their individual identity and travel to compete against 254 teams from various top Singaporean and oversea schools across four elements of the tournament, Core Values, robot design, project presentation and the robot game. The teams were commended for their professionalism and enthusiasm, and the judges were particularly impressed with how much they had achieved in the ten weeks leading up to the competition. The Baryon Hadron Robotics was awarded Gold Medals and received “Inspiration Award” trophy. The teams will continue to run in the weekend to allow students to continue to refine their programming skills in preparation for the next tournament, FLL UK, June 2017.
SWA ‘Baryon Hadron Robotics” team includes: Shrinandhan Prabu (G10), Kelly Chandra Lie (G9) and Ayden Victory Haoken (G4). Our SWA Robotics Team brought home 3 Gold Medals and received prestigious INSPIRATION AWARD TROPHY in the CORE VALUE. This award celebrates a team that is empowered by their FIRST LEGO League experience and displays extraordinary enthusiasm and spirit. Please join in congratulating SWA Robotics Team on their excellent achievement! They should be proud of completing the challenges of this event, demonstrating exceptional enthusiasm and showing a strong performance.
