This week, 11-16 November 2017, Sinarmas World Academy (SWA) welcomed 10 students from Seoul National University Elementary School (SNUES), headed by the Chief of Research and Curriculum Design, Mr Wee Hyungil and Chief of International Education, Ms Kim Jiyoon. The SWA Elementary School students warmly welcomed the delegates in SWA’s theatre by performing Wushu and traditional Indonesian music, followed by a school tour led by the Junior Student Council.
The Student Exchange Programme was a great opportunity for SNUES students to learn about the Indonesian culture. They visited the Ministry of Education and National Museum in Jakarta; participated in Batik class in SWA and nature trip in Scientia Park; most importantly, they joined the Grade 4 and Grade 5 classes where they did not only experience the academic life in SWA but also formed new friendships.
Mr. Wee said, “Through this student exchange programme, the SNUES students will learn about the culture in Indonesia and form a great cooperation between two schools in the years to come.”
The SNUES students also experienced living with SWA host families who made the Korean students’ stay very memorable and fun. The families took such good care of the students and they made sure that they experienced the warm hospitality of the Indonesian families.
